"Project Management - A Fixed vs. Growth Mindset", Speaker: Brant Pearson, PhD, North (Cabarrus & Huntersville) Virtual Meeting
Topic:
Waterfall, Agile, Lean, Six-Sigma, Scrum…the buzzwords, frameworks, and theories never seem to end, and most organizations have a particular way of using these methods: a specific way they strategize, market, and satisfy customer demands. Unfortunately for many organizations, this particular way of doing business never evolves, which becomes their fixed mindset (cue the phrase, this is how it has always been done).
However, like all things, change is inevitable, even if it has always been done in a particular way. The traditional way we work, plan, and play is constantly evolving. Consumer and employee demands are changing, market trends continue to grow, and industry advancement keeps our heads on a swivel. In today’s highly competitive landscape, it’s not a matter of the change itself, but we are even open to it. Remember, what worked for us today might not tomorrow.
Objectives:
- Examine factors that influence strategic planning & project management
- Examine a fixed vs. growth mindset
- Identify a holistic approach to change management
- Describe how culture affects organizational outcomes
