PMI Carolina Mentorship Program

 The PMI Carolina Mentorship program aims to accelerate the personal and professional development of mentees, with a focus on project and program management. The program fosters trust and provides meaningful growth and networking for its participants.

  1. Program Timeline
  • August 21, 2025: Program enrollment opens
  • September 19, 2025: Enrollment closes
  • September 22 – October 3, 2025: Pairing process
  • October 3, 2025: Pairings confirmed and communicated
  • October 3, 2025 – March 31, 2026: Program in session
  • Early April 2026: Program concludes
  1. Pairing Process 
    1. Application Pairings - Pairing will be based on certain criteria included:
      • Industry alignment.
      • Match between mentee goals and mentor skill sets.
      • Time availability and capacity commitments.
    2. Seek Your Own Pairing - Mentees may also opt to identify and select their own mentor outside of the internal pairing process.
  2. Guidelines for Mentorship
  1. Mentor Guidelines: 
    • Does not have to be a PMI Member. 
    • 5+ years of experience.
    • PMP certified.
    • Preferred experience managing larger or cross-functional teams of people. 
    • Prior coaching & developing, or mentorship experience.
    • Previous experience in board or volunteer leadership roles – especially in program or team management – is preferred.
    • Minimum commitment: 4 hours per month. Additional time is welcome and highly valued.
  2. Mentee Guidelines 
    • PMI Carolina Member.
    • On the path to a CAPM/PMP certification, or already CAPM/PMP and looking to enhance or refresh based on industry changes.
  3. Rules of Mentorship: 
    • Recruiting within mentorship NOT allowed.
    • Be respectful of your mentee/mentor’s time.
    • Be receptive to feedback.
    • Communicate effectively.
    • Respect boundaries.
