To better equip you to work with government agencies, learn what unique topics and considerations government project managers need to know and why. Many of the topics addressed in this presentation apply to government agencies at local, state and federal levels. Project management for government organizations have unique methods and issues resulting from state and Federal contracting regulations. At the federal level, congressional mandates, military considerations, human factors requirements, agency specific and departmental coordination requirements also dictate different methods and terms than what is in the Project Management Book of Knowledge. The Department of Defense and several other agencies do not use Project Management Institute materials. Concepts and definitions are similar but not exact.
