Topic Description: In today’s competitive environment, Project Managers need every advantage to move their career to the next level. It will take a combination of experience, education and social media networking to build a successful career. In a recent survey, 92% of Project Managers are using social media for business purposes. Attend this fast-paced session to find out how you can leverage the power of social media to build your personal brands, develop relationships, maintain your network and look for your next opportunity. During this presentation participants will get an overview of some of the most popular social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter and tips for using them to help manage their career.

Rich is a risk, security, and project management professional specializing in financial services technology. He has over 30 years of experience that includes management of multi-million-dollar technology projects/programs for organizations such as Bank of America and Morgan Stanley. As the owner of The Public You, a social media-consulting firm, Mr. Sauser continues to contribute to the profession and to bettering organizations through his teaching and consulting. Rich serves as the Vice President of Marketing for the PMI Metrolina Chapter and is a member of the ISACA Social Media Advocates group. Rich has a master’s degree in information systems from DePaul University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University of Chicago in Public Accounting. A PMP since 2005, he also holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designations.

This presentation is designed to equip participants to use change management principles to increase project effectiveness. Participants will learn: · What is change management and why you need a change management strategy · Change management tools and techniques · How to leverage tools and techniques to develop change management strategies

Nicole Kelly, PMP is a transformation and project management executive with over fifteen years of experience managing large, cross-functional teams to deliver significant business results for Fortune 200 organizations. Nicole has held leadership roles at TIAA, Bank of America and Capital One across multiple divisions and functional areas. She has led the successful delivery of strategic and operational initiatives, including affiliate integrations, new product launches, and systems/technology and organizational changes. Nicole earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting at Southern University and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Additionally, she holds PMP, Prosci Change Management, and Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certifications

Community Chapter Meeting 

As a means of helping chapter and local community members who are certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) satisfy the continuing education requirements for re-certification, PMI Metrolina Chapter arranges its monthly meeting schedule to allow a 1 hour PDU training session to be incorporated into its normal meeting.

Topics presented during these sessions are designed to not only satisfy the PDU requirement for re-certifying as a PMP, but to also provide wide appeal to people involved in project management regardless of whether or not they are certified PMPs. 

The sessions are open to all.
