In Person Professional Development: Servant Leadership and Emotional Intelligence
Among many Agile aficionados, there is a grossly oversimplified characterization that contrasts leadership in traditional environments with leadership in Agile environments. It is popular to say that in Agile environments have servant leaders who possess the characteristics of emotional intelligence. It is imperative that modern day project managers understand what it means to be servant leader.
- Being aware of the context of the team's environment.
- Being aware of what is going on in the project and how it affects the various people on the project.
- Building relationships.
- Understanding that persuasion is helping others open their minds to important concerns.
