"Software Development Lifecycle in a Hybrid World" Speaker:John Utley -East Region Virtual (Wilmington & Jacksonville) Meeting

Power Skills
Topic: "SDLC for a mult-modal solution development and deployment environment"

Presentation Description:
How do you create an SDLC flexible enough to support multiple ways of getting work done (Waterfall, Agile, KANBAN, Wagile, etc.) and projects that span a few thousand dollars to hundreds of millions? AmerisourceBergen’s PMO has been working on that question for over a year and is close to rolling-out an answer. In this discussion, we will review the Adaptive Solution Framework (ASF). ASF employs guardrails, zones, the expertise of the team, and regular “friendly audits” to create solution development governance that is both fit for purpose and auditable. Join us to discuss why we had to make a change, how we approached the problem, and our vision for a flexible, compliant, and resilient Solution Development Lifecycle.

  • In large enterprises, the Software/Solution Development Lifecycle (SDLC) that governs how IT projects are executed must be updated to comprehensively and efficiently incorporate a diversity of development methodologies.
  • Efficiency – getting the most for the least – dictates that IT Governance be fit-for-purpose rather than one-size-fits-all.
  • To be widely adopted and appreciated, SDLCs must generate value for all stakeholders: Audit & Compliance, Project Team, Leadership, PMs & SMs, Quality, Release Management, Finance, etc.
