Ty Chandler, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Lead at AvidXchange, Inc.
Ty spent nearly two decades in local, national and cable newsrooms using the art of storytelling to connect individuals and communities. I leverage that experience daily in my role as Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Lead at AvidXchange, where our goal is to create an environment where teammates feel empowered to show up to work with authenticity. I act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and develop programs and initiatives to accelerate our DI&B efforts. I am also an Emmy award winning communications professional, an innovative content creator and highly skilled public speaker and moderator. I specialize in strategic and crisis communications as well as project management.
Panelist: Cathy Ivey
Cathy Ivey, Vice President, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity at TIAA
Cathy Ivey is a Vice President, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity. She’s accountable for all aspects of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity for TIAA and Nuveen enterprise lines of business. Cathy and her Relationship Management team design robust strategies, communicates and deploys diversity, equity & inclusion frameworks to improve equity accountability, build community volunteerism and enhance a culture of inclusion for the organization.
During Cathy’s career at TIAA she has always been focused on meeting client’s needs. She began her career as a phone representative in the call center and has since contributed to the success of TIAA in leadership roles launching the hubs in Denver, Colorado and Charlotte, North Carolina; Learning and Development Director for the largest employee group at TIAA; Director of the National Contact Center, managing more than two million calls annually with more than eight hundred financial consultants, Lean Six Sigma Consultant and as a Senior Director leading large scale improvement projects for TIAA’s institutional clients. Cathy has worked in three of TIAA’s major locations, New York-TIAA’s headquarters, Denver, and Charlotte.
Outside of work, Cathy is a mother of two daughters Shelby and Kennedy and her yellow lab, Solomon. She enjoys serving her community as an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, and she loves to travel.
