"The Art and Science of Learning" , Speaker: David Mantica, Metro Region (Ballantyne, Charlotte & University) Virtual Meeting

Business Acumen

Topic:

Learning means different things to different people. At its core, learning is adding new knowledge, skills,
techniques, and tools to an area you know and have experience within as well as gaining knowledge, skills, techniques and tools to new ideas or concepts aka things you have never been exposed.  Learning includes straight knowledge transfer all the way to full immersion programs or stretch assignments.

The problem is people don’t realize that learning requires a bit of pain/angst/stress or it will be forgotten.  In this session we will discuss how to learn, the types of learning you can do, the concept of Unlearning, and where to go to gain new or updated skills, knowledge, tools and techniques. The sad things about it, is we really have never been taught how to learn, here is a chance to get some ideas on how to be do it.
