Are you finding yourself in need of getting more done in less time and yet you recognize the priorities that are before you? Join us for this interactive session where you will learn how to deal more effectively at managing multiple priorities and deadlines. You will be introduced to the Eisenhower Matrix aka “Urgent-Important Matrix” which will help you decide on and prioritize tasks by urgency and importance, sorting out less urgent and important tasks which you should either delegate or not do at all.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn a framework that helps you decide on and prioritize tasks by urgency and importance.
  • Put into practice the “Urgent-Important Matrix” that will help you to gain control over time and priorities.
  • Learn the advantages to delegating tasks to others – in whole or in part.

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Shelley Thompkins is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in market-leading organizations and Fortune 500 corporations including TIAA, Wells Fargo, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, University of Virginia, and Coca-Cola. Shelley successfully developed and implemented leadership and talent development programs as well as led organizational effectiveness initiatives leveraging best practices across diverse industries.

She earned a Bachelor’s of Arts from Howard University, a Masters of Business Administration from American University, a Masters of Theological Studies from Emory University and a PhD in Business Management from Capella University. She is an International Coaching Federation certified Coach. Her research in Emotional Intelligence resulted in a published study entitled, “A Leader’s Level of Emotional Intelligence and its Impact on Employee Engagement: A Case Study” published by ProQuest. She has also authored a chapter entitled, “Equipping Managers to Lead” in the book, “Coaching Perspectives VIII”.

She loves to garden, cook and she hosts a YouTube cooking show - Chef Shelley Thompkins focused on creating “Simple, Delicious and Healthier Recipes for People on the Go”.
