PMI Carolina Virtual Meeting - Program Management isn’t Project Management on steroids

Ways of Working

Topic:

Program Management isn’t Project Management on steroids.  It’s easy to look at a complicated body of work and call it a “program”.  It’s also easy to keep a bunch of related work lumped together as a single project.  When should you declare that a program exists and how do you change your management tools and techniques to ensure success?  We will look at what makes a program a program and how and why you must approach managing it differently from a project.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand how programs differ from projects strategically
  • Understand how programs differ from projects tactically
  • Explore ways projects integrate into program management methods and tools
